An AI chat assistant on your website that answers from your own pages

Our website chat service adds an AI assistant to your site that answers visitors' questions using your own content — your pages, offers and policies — streams its replies as it writes them, and can book a call or pass the visitor to your team. When the answer is not in your content, it says so instead of inventing one. The same assistant runs live on takat.ai.

What we do for you

  • An assistant that answers from your website's own content, refreshed when your pages change
  • Streaming replies, so visitors see the answer appear instead of waiting
  • Call or meeting booking from inside the chat, or a contact form when that suits you better
  • A clear opening line saying it is an AI assistant, and a way to reach a person
  • Rules for what it must not answer (prices it does not have, legal or medical advice, promises)
  • Conversation logs you can read, to see what visitors ask and where your site is unclear
  • A light script that does not slow your pages down

Who it is for

  • Fits: service businesses whose visitors ask the same pre-sales questions (process, delays, coverage, what is included)
  • Fits: sites with a lot of useful content that visitors do not find
  • Fits: teams that want more booked calls without staffing a live chat
  • Does not fit: sites whose content is thin or out of date — the assistant can only be as good as what it reads
  • Does not fit: anyone who wants the chat to quote prices or make commitments that are not written on the site

Why answering from your own content matters

A generic chatbot answers from what a model learned on the internet. That is how assistants end up promising a discount you never offered or describing a service you do not sell. Our assistant is instructed to use only the content of your site and the facts you confirm. Anthropic, one of the main model providers, recommends exactly these techniques against made-up answers: explicitly allowing the model to say it does not know, grounding answers in direct quotes from the documents, and restricting it to the documents provided rather than its general knowledge. Anthropic also notes that such techniques reduce errors but do not eliminate them, which is why we keep logs and review them.

How we set it up

  1. Read your site. We index your pages and the facts you confirm (offer, area, process, policies), and leave out anything you do not want used.
  2. Write the rules. What the assistant may answer, what it must refuse, when it offers a call, how it hands over to a person.
  3. Test with real questions. We run the questions your customers actually ask, including awkward ones, and fix wrong or vague answers before launch.
  4. Install. A small script on your site, styled to match it, with booking or contact connected.
  5. Read the logs. Every few weeks we read conversations, spot questions your site does not answer, and suggest page improvements (which feed our SEO work when you have it).

What the rules say about chat assistants

The European Commission states that under the AI Act, "when using AI systems such as chatbots, humans should be made aware that they are interacting with a machine", and that the transparency rules apply from August 2026. Our assistant introduces itself as an AI in its first message.

Conversations can contain personal data (a name, an email, a phone number). The GDPR requires telling people who is responsible for the processing and for what purposes and on what legal basis (Article 13). The CNIL adds, for AI systems, that the purpose must be defined in advance, data limited to what is necessary and not kept indefinitely. We set a retention period with you, mention the assistant in your privacy notice, and do not use conversations for anything else.

Chat assistant, contact form or WhatsApp?

ChannelBest forLimit
Contact formSimple requests, quotes with known fieldsNo answer until someone replies
Website AI chatPre-sales questions answered instantly from your content, then a booked callOnly as good as your site's content
WhatsApp agentCustomers who already message you, bookings, follow-upsOpt-in and WhatsApp rules apply (see WhatsApp AI agents)

How we measure it

  • Conversations started and calls or enquiries booked from the chat, recorded as events in your analytics (see tracking)
  • Share of questions answered from your content versus "I don't know" answers, which point to missing pages
  • Handovers to a person, and why they happened

What we need from you

  • Access to add a script to your site
  • The facts you want the assistant to use, and those it must never state
  • Your booking tool or the inbox where requests should go
  • A person who reads a short summary of conversations from time to time

Questions we get

Will it invent answers?

It is instructed to answer only from your content and to say when it does not know. That reduces made-up answers but cannot remove every error, so we test before launch and review logs afterwards.

Does it say it is a bot?

Yes, in its first message, and it offers a way to reach a person.

Can it book a call directly?

Yes. It can offer slots from your booking tool, or collect a request for your team, depending on how you work.

Will it slow down my site?

We load it as a light script after the page content, so your pages stay fast.

Where can I see one working?

The same assistant answers visitors on takat.ai today.
