Growth for trades and home services: the phone rings for the right jobs

When a pipe bursts, people do not browse: they search, look at the first few names on the map and call. For planned work (a new kitchen, insulation, a roof), they compare for weeks. We set up your Google profile as a proper service-area business, build one page per job you want more of, and run tightly capped Search ads on the searches that turn into calls.

Two kinds of search, two speeds

Urgent jobs (leaks, power cuts, locked doors, broken boilers) are decided in minutes. The map pack and a call button do almost all the work: distance, hours, reviews and a phone number that answers.

Planned jobs (renovation, insulation, heat pumps, roofing, landscaping) start with questions: cost ranges, what permits are needed, how long it takes, what aid exists. People read, compare quotes and check reviews and photos of past work. Here, a useful page per job type and visible proof of real work win over ads.

What we do for a trade business

  • A service-area profile done right: Google asks businesses that visit customers and do not receive them at their address to remove the address from the profile, and allows up to 20 service areas, within about two hours' drive of the base. Hybrid businesses with a counter or showroom can show both. We set the categories, hours, services and photos of real jobs. See local SEO.
  • One page per job you want more of: what it involves, what affects the price, how long it takes, the official rules that apply, photos of your own work. No copy of the same page for every town. See SEO.
  • Search ads that bring calls: exact searches for the job and the area, negatives for "how to", "DIY", "jobs", "salary" and "training", ads scheduled to your real hours, a daily cap and a stop rule written before launch. See Google Ads.
  • Calls and quote requests counted: clicks on the phone number and quote form submissions measured in GA4, with consent, so the stop rule is judged on enquiries, not clicks.

Rules and pitfalls for home services

France: no cold calling for energy-saving work. Article L223-1 of the Consumer Code forbids prospecting consumers by phone to offer services, equipment or works for energy savings, renewable energy production or adapting a home to ageing or disability, except within a contract already under way. Since 11 August 2026, the same article also forbids phoning any consumer for prospecting without their prior consent. Your growth must therefore come from people who search for you and ask to be called; quote forms should collect that consent clearly.

Reviews from real customers only. Google forbids offering discounts or anything else in exchange for a review, and reviews from people with a conflict of interest. Ask every satisfied customer after the job, with a direct link; never pay for reviews.

Fake addresses do not last. P.O. boxes and remote mailboxes are not accepted as an address, and virtual offices are not eligible without permanent signage and staff. A profile at a false address risks suspension; a correct service-area profile is the durable choice.

What we need from you

  • The jobs you want more of, the jobs you do not take, and the area you really cover.
  • Photos of finished work (with customers' permission), and any certifications you hold.
  • A phone that is answered during the hours we advertise, or a clear callback promise.
  • Manager access to your Google profile and website, and an ad account in your name; ad spend is paid by you.

Questions we get

Can you put us at the top of Google Maps in every town we cover?

No one can promise that. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence, and says a better local ranking cannot be bought. Distance means you will usually show best near your base; ads can extend your reach to other towns.

Should we create a profile for each town?

No. One profile per real location where you have staff or a counter. Extra profiles at addresses you do not occupy break Google's rules and can be suspended.

Do you sell leads?

No. We bring enquiries to you through your own profile, site and ads, in your name.

Is Facebook useful for a trade business?

For urgent jobs, rarely. For planned, visual work (kitchens, bathrooms, gardens), short videos of finished jobs on Facebook and Instagram can work well, tested with a small capped budget.
