Dashboards that show the few numbers you actually decide on

We build dashboards that gather the numbers you check every week, from the tools that hold them (your database, CRM, Google Analytics, Search Console, Google and Meta Ads, Stripe), refresh them automatically and show them on one screen. Each figure says where it comes from and when it was last updated, so you can trust it in a meeting.

What we do for you

  • A short workshop to choose the five to ten figures you really decide on, and the definition of each one in writing
  • Connections to your sources through their official APIs or your database, scheduled to refresh
  • Data cleaned and stored in a Postgres database you own, so history is kept even if a tool changes
  • One screen per role (owner, sales, operations), readable on a phone
  • The source and refresh time shown next to every figure
  • Alerts by email or chat when a figure crosses a threshold you set
  • Exports to a spreadsheet whenever you want the raw data

Who it is for

  • Fits: owners who rebuild the same spreadsheet every Monday from five exports
  • Fits: teams where sales, marketing and operations quote different numbers for the same thing
  • Fits: businesses with data in a database or a custom app that no off-the-shelf tool reads
  • Does not fit: a data warehouse for hundreds of sources or a data-science team; we build practical dashboards for decisions

The problem it removes

Most small and mid-sized companies already have their numbers; they are just spread across six tools and one spreadsheet that someone updates by hand. By the time the figure reaches a meeting it is a week old and nobody remembers how it was calculated. A dashboard is useful when it removes that manual step and when everybody agrees on what each number means.

What we have built

  • A server health page for our own infrastructure, refreshed every five minutes.
  • Dashboards in a restaurant group's booking and customer platform, which we built and which is live.
  • Our own CRM pipeline view, GA4 dashboards for our selling sites, and reports built on the Search Console, Google Ads and Meta Ads APIs.
  • The extraction of a 1,226-document corpus prepared for an AI assistant, which taught us how much time goes into cleaning data before any chart.

How we build it

  1. Definitions. Each figure gets a one-line definition and an owner: what counts as a lead, a sale, an active customer.
  2. Sources. We connect each tool through its official API. Google's Analytics Data API, for example, gives programmatic access to GA4 report data.
  3. Storage. Data lands in Postgres. For heavy summaries we use materialized views, which store a query's results for fast reading and are refreshed on a schedule; the trade-off, as the PostgreSQL docs note, is that the data is only as fresh as the last refresh, so we show that time on screen.
  4. Screens. One screen per role, tested on a phone.
  5. Checks. We compare the dashboard with the source tools for two weeks before you rely on it.

Our rules

  • Every number is traceable to its source; no figure is typed in by hand without being marked as such.
  • Personal data only where needed, and access by role.
  • If two tools disagree, we show it rather than hide it.
  • The database and the dashboard stay yours.

What we need from you

  • The questions you want answered every week, and who asks them
  • Read access to your tools and database
  • One person to validate the definitions

Questions we get

Why not just use the reports inside each tool?

If one tool answers your question, use it. A dashboard helps when the answer needs several tools together, such as ad spend from Google and Meta against sales from Stripe or your CRM.

Is the data real time?

As fresh as each source allows and as you need. Many figures are fine refreshed hourly or daily; we show the last refresh time next to each one.

Can you add AI to the dashboard?

We can add a short written summary or an alert generated from the figures, always with the figures next to it. See automated reporting.

What tool do you use for the screens?

Usually a light web app on your own database, so there is no extra subscription per user. If your team already uses a BI tool, we can feed it instead.
